How to Reach Lignano
The city of Lignano enjoys a strategic position, with the lagoon on one side and the sea on the other, immersed in a verdant pine forest and a stone’s throw from splendid cities of art, such as Venice, Trieste and Udine.
By Car
Utilize the A4 Venezia-Trieste or A23 Tarvisio-Venezia highways, exiting at the Latisana toll booth. From there, continue on the state road 354 towards Lignano for about 18 km. These highways are well-connected to major Italian and European road networks.
By Train
The Milan-Trieste railway line is about 20 km from Lignano Sabbiadoro, with Latisana-Lignano-Bibione being the closest station. Other nearby stations include Udine (60 km) and Portogruaro-Caorle (35 km). Bus connections from these stations to Lignano are available with multiple daily services. For those arriving at Latisana, the “Lignano Link” service, available all week with 50 summer and 27 winter bus routes, includes a combined train+bus ticket purchasable at www.trenitalia.it by selecting Lignano as the arrival or departure station.
By Plane
Lignano is about an hour’s drive from Venice Marco Polo, Trieste Ronchi dei Legionari, and Treviso Canova international airports, all connected to the beach by buses and trains. There are direct express buses from Venice Marco Polo Airport, and connections from Treviso Canova include a direct link to Venice Marco Polo Airport and then an express bus to Lignano Sabbiadoro.
